Sorry to hear you're feeling that way.
Ignore how your family or society thinks you should live your life, 'where' you should be in terms of career, and everything like that. Not a single person has ever laid in his deathbed thinking 'I wish I had been more successful', and no-one will think of you after death with the thought 'if only they had gone further in their career'. At the end of the ride, it's all fluff. Don't let other people's expectations of you make you miserable. Live life at your own pace.
That said, a person needs to eat, and nothing in this world is free. Getting a job is a good idea. Not just because of the money, but because it will force you to break some of the habits that are making you feel depressed. Even if you don't like your job, it will result in you transferring your energy from hating yourself toward hating your job, and then toward finding a better job. In addition, working will force you to socialise, force you to focus on work-stuff, and keep your mind off things.
Good luck and keep us updated. Know that everyone struggles with these feelings, even though no-one will talk about these types of things in real life. You are not alone. Many people go through these feelings and come out stronger. You will too.
